Uday Sotang and Manila Sotang's Mantabya



Duet singers Uday and Manila Sotang have succeeded in establishing their own unique identities in the Music Industry. Of the many released albums, the husband and wife duo have been successful to do extremely well in the market. Their last album 'Marma', was also well-received and recently the Sotang's released their ninth album 'Mantabya' in the market. The album was launched at a formal program organized at the Russian Cultural Centre, Kamalpokhari on July 1. Veteran singer and musician -- Deep Shrestha graced the occasion as the chief guest and released the album.

'Mantabya' produced and marketed by Opal International has been released after a break of two years and at the album releasing ceremony two music-videos were also premiered. The music-video of "Ye Hawa", is directed by Alok Nemwang and "Choyo" is directed by Laxmi Puja Production's Jaswant Shrestha. Uday Sotang informs, "We have tried to add and incorporate a different flavor from our regular ones. There is this song in which we have experimented with fusion of eastern and western music."

This time too, the Sotangs have given continuity of featuring their son and daughter -- Suyog and Shreya respectively in one of their songs -- "Choyo". In the earlier released album 'Marma', they were featured in "Hamro Bajeko Palama".

Lyricist for 'Mantabya' are Dinesh Adhikari, Raman Ghimire, Navaraj Lamsal, Saru Bhakta, Viplob Pratik, Krishna Abiral and Sanjay Baral and all the music in the album have been composed by Uday Sotang himself. The Sotangs are quite popular and in demand in Raffles City, Singapore. For quite a while they have been doing programs in Stamford Hotel located in Raffles City and this time too in fact today they are flying to Singapore and will be returning within a year. We wish them the best.
